Background Ideas

I adore the orange coloring of this one. I'd imagine tilting the image to be at a disorienting angle, and add some steam and stuff...

Most of these are from deviantart stock-accounts or morguefile that I thought interesting enough to keep close at hand.

I love how the color green of the chairs is almost a perfect contrasting color to that of the walls. I imagine this being one of those things where a bunch of people are sitting, looking uniform, except for whomever is supposed to be the picture's subject...probably sitting there in the far left front char.
Spooky! I want to put a character in the right 3rd of the picture, and give the piece a dark blue color scheme.

I like how this is like a frame within a frame within a frame. My favorite part about this one is the door area- it's so dark and spooky inside this building with dreary nuetral colors, but through the opened dark-green doors, it's a bright and saturated green.
An interesting composition idea- there's repeition for the first 2/3 of the picture, but then there's a change in the last 3rd, which would make for a great frame. I would probably put a character in that last 3rd :)!
